Bexley Eco Festival 2024: A day of sustainability, learning, and fun!

Updated: Jul 29

Mark your calendars! The Bexley Eco Festival is back and better than ever. Join us on Saturday, 7th September 2024, from 11 am to 5 pm, at the beautiful Lesnes Abbey Woods for a day filled with green inspiration, family-friendly activities, and community spirit.

Getting there: Go green from the start!

We're making it easier than ever to reduce your carbon footprint right from your journey to the festival. Lesnes Abbey Woods is easily accessible by public transport. Click here for more information about train, bus, and cycle routes. Let's start our eco-day the right way.

What's in store? A sneak peek at our eco-extravaganza!

Talks in the lodge

Throughout the day, your local council, community groups, and businesses will be giving talks and demonstrations about their eco-initiatives. From recycling tips to the importance of bee-keeping, you're sure to learn something new! The full schedule will be released soon.

Kids Zone: The future is in their hands!

We've got a host of activities to inspire young minds:

●      Nan & Van's free arts and crafts using recycled materials

●      Eco-themed arts and crafts with an environmental message

●      Circus workshops where kids can learn juggling and other skills using recycled materials

●      Eco-friendly face painting with nature-themed designs (no glitter!) and hair braiding

●      EcoQuest: A family-friendly treasure hunt where you'll find clues, answer eco-related questions, and make seed bombs to help pollination

Health & Wellness Zone

Discover how eco-living and well-being go hand in hand. Experience a relaxing gong bath, learn how Reiki can rebalance your body, or join a yoga session. You can participate in free demonstrations to see how these practices benefit you.

Eco-Marketplace

Shop local and sustainable! Browse stalls offering refill stations, eco-friendly products, local honey, cakes, jewellery, and artwork. All our vendors are local, reducing product miles. Have a question about bees or gluten-friendly products? Our vendors are the makers themselves and would be delighted to share their journey with you!

Community Zone

Connect with your local council representatives and non-profit organisations. Whether you want to know the best ways to recycle or how you could get involved in local initiatives, come and speak with the experts!

Fashion Zone

Say goodbye to fast fashion! Participate in clothes swapping, explore eco-friendly clothing stalls, and don't miss our sustainable fashion show. Traid will be on hand to explain how they've partnered with the London Borough of Bexley to make recycling your unwanted clothes even easier.

EcoQuest

Bring your family for an exciting eco-themed treasure hunt. Take on the map, find the clues, solve the riddle, and return for a special reward!

Street food

Tantalise your taste buds with a variety of global cuisines. From Indian delicacies to Caribbean flavours, our local street vendors offer a cultural taste journey. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are available.

Recycle centre

Located in The Lodge, the Wasteless Market will host a recycling drop-off point for items not usually recycled by the council. Bring your empty crisp packets, Pringle tubes, and more. A full list of accepted items will be available soon.

Outdoor classroom

Venture deep into Lesnes Abbey's ancient woodland to our new outdoor classroom! Here you can watch cooking and wood carving demonstrations. Times will be published closer to the event.

Accessibility

At the Bexley Eco Festival, we believe sustainability should be accessible to all and we've taken steps to ensure everyone can enjoy the event comfortably.

Lesnes Abbey has a disabled-friendly access gate on New Road, and the main body of the event will take place around The Lodge, featuring flat paths and grass areas.

Our signage complies with DDA standards, and we've set up a Quiet Zone for our neurodiverse visitors who might need a calm space.

If you need any assistance, our friendly staff members are always ready to help, or you can visit our Information Point opposite the Kiosk.

Be Part of the Change!

We're always looking for local talent and helping hands. Whether you're a musician, part of a community group, a vendor, or simply want to volunteer, we'd love to have you on board. Email info@cceventsuk.com to get involved.

The Bexley Eco Festival is a celebration of our community's commitment to a greener future. From hands-on workshops to thought-provoking talks and delicious food to eco-friendly shopping, there's something for everyone.

Join us on 7th September and be part of the change. Together, we can make a difference. See you at Eco Festival 2024!
